Any questions about the game are posted and answered here

What's with that tank. I played a lot of WW2 games but I have never seen a similar vehicle.

We had a few letters a bout this. Well the tank that is causing all the confusion is PzKpfw 35 (t). PzKpfw 35(t)s (t for Tschechisch - Czech) took part in the Polish and French campaign. Later, they were used by the German Police and the anti-partisan units. We chose this tank because the action of the game takes place in occupied areas and Germany. Tigers and Panthers were used at the front at that time.

I changed my graphics card to radeon 9550. Is the engine working on ATI cards?

Wolfschanze will work on every card starting with GeForce2 and better.

How many levels will there be in the game?

The game will have 20 episodes and a few maps to play online.

Will there be any medkits in the game?

Yes of course. There are first aid kits in the game (large and small). There also are meals, roast chicken, soup etc.

Is "Wolfschanze" a town of some sort or is it just a name of the game?

Wolfschanze (Wolf's rampart) is a complex of bunkers created on Hitler's order, on the territory of northern Poland. These bunkers were a well guarded head quarters and Hitler's hideout during the end of world war two.

It's a wierd question. But how do you record sounds? The gun sound are of most interest to me.

We watch original German chronicles (Die Deutsche Wochenschau) and we try to fit the sound to those heard there, excluding the noise and enhancing it a little bit. We also have some modern films showing how old ww2 guns work - which is also helpful.

is there a possibility of changing the level of difficulty?

Yes. Higher levels are something what should make more experienced players happy, and lower levels are available for everyone.

Floors in the churches in M1! What a wonderful thing. They still astonish me, i hope this will be in Wolfschanze.

at present water looks even better. The reflection is refracted by the waves and simultaneously you can see the bottom where the water is shallow. Naturally the floorer similar to the one form M1 is also in the game.

Are there holes in the walls and people when you shoot at them?

The blood is pouring in the game (you can turn it off) and there are also some gibs :). Holes in the walls - of course yes. In addition there is a variety of items you can pick up, smash or destroy. Crates, vases, bottles. Some walls are destroyable too.

Can you swim in the game (sorry for being so harsh :D)?.

Yes!!! Reportedly some game didn't have that feature. In Wolfschanze you can swim of course.

Are all levels done? When is the game release planned?

The game is practically over (some minor adjustments are made) but the date of the premiere depends on the publisher. We believe it's pretty soon. When we will know something more precise we will share it with the whole world.

Will there be codes? (no no, i don't cheat)

Sure we believe you :). Yes. There are codes which may get in handy in case of trouble. We are enhancing game play and i believe that codes won't be necessary for most of players.

Can you get on a motorcycle at any moment (unless we are in a building)? Can you destroy a bike? Can you see the speedometer? Can you shoot from the bike?

Motorbike is a little bit like a vehicle in HL2. We remember that you can ride for about 3 maps. You can get in and out of it to fix some things, you can also destroy it. When on bike you can see our hero from behind and you can't see the speed o meter. You can shoot from a tank.

What system requirements does Wolfschanze have?

Minimal configuration is Pentium III 800 MHz, 256 MB RAM and a GeForce2 graphics card. Optimal configuration is Pentium 4 2,4 GHz 512 MB RAM, ATI Radeon card.

How much weapons there is in the game?

We have 11 sorts of weapons in the game. You can use a kick in any moment (A tribute to Duke Nukem 3d). The sausage is the most or
iginal, which helps calm dogs. Other weapons have an active crosshair witch changes depending on what weapon you hold, weather you run, you're tired, how long you shoot etc. All these parameters have influence on accuracy of your shot.

Are there time missions :(? Witch aren't very popular among players.

In principle there aren't. Well maybe just one. But don't be afraid it's not a tough mission. We are not sadists.

Are there silent missions, when stealth is needed?

Basically there are no missions in which stealth is the purpose of the mission, although there is a variety of places where you can see an interesting scene thanks to being crept like soldiers playing cards or listen to second soldiers talking. Stealth is more like a kind of playing the same game in an alternative way. You can make noise and smash everything around or creep a bit here and there.

Does colonel Claus have a companion or a friend of some sort?

Yes. You have a companion for a period of time. You meet him in first mission. And you rescue him later when he is in prison. Then he helps you shoot a little bit.

Will the sausage be in the game for real? :D

Naturally. It's a very efficient weapon. Ecologists and fighters for animal rights will be pleased.

Will we met civilians in the game? Will we find people that will help us?

Naturally. There is a storyline in the game. We meet persons that we will have to chat with and get to know a little bit of this and that about how the action is developing. Some of them help us and some of them don't - like Mr. "evil boss" himself.

Is there a possibility to switch between FPP and TPP?

the point of view is switched when the player uses vehicles.

Are you in version alpha? beta? or the final?

Sometimes I think that all at once. :o) But seriously it's the finish of the works. We planned the end for may but when it appeared that the game is so popular, we decided to work a little more.

What's the name of the hero? What country is he from?

The character we play is named Claus. He is a wehrmacht colonel, chief of headquarters and Führer's trusted officer.

When is the release planned?

The premiere will be delayed because we want to brush up the whole material. The end of the works is planned for December.

Your official web page we can read about "current SS Tower project". Is this all about Wolfschanze 1944?

In fact, these are two diferent games. We worked on SS Tower for some time, when all of a sudden a new great game scenario concept appeared.

There is some confusion on the Calaris page cause we had to make the webmaster do some minor help work. The page suffers due to that, but the game is most important!

During Hitler assassination in Wolfschanze there was no gunshots involved! So what’s the game story about?

Game story IS BASED on real events. Historical sources tell us that Stauffenberg was arrested and killed right after he reached Berlin. In Wolfschanze 1944 history facts are "fabularized" to make the game playable, interesting and attractive. Were not making an exact copy of the history book. We can’t say what exactly will happen, but the story solution is brilliant!

What about hardware requirements? Will the game slow down on weak machines?

The game engine is very efficient wich allows game to run quite good on pentium 3 700 MHz. You will need pentium 2,4 GHz to run the game smoothly with all details turned on.

The “physique test” doesn’t show much of the game.

"Physique test" isn't an official game trailer. It's just a physique sample. The first trailer is available now.

Will the player be able to use vehicles?

Yes. You will be able to ride a motorbike and a tank.

The water looks cool. Is it real?

The game engine is using all latest technological achievements: volumetric shadows, realistic reflection/refraction water, Newton physics.

Will there be a possibility to swap crosshairs or to turn it off?

The crosshair is made out of two circles witch change their size and blur depending on how accurate the weapon is in the circumstances we are using it (when we run or we get hit or shoot auto-fire to long we lose concentration and the weapon is less accurate). The solution is quite similar to one in "Splinter Cell" series.

When will you answer the questions?

Now! :)
